Take A Trip to Uganda What will I be doing on an Edith's Hope trip? This trip is an opportunity to meet incredible people working to make the lives of orphaned children more hopeful. This trip is designed for those who want to see and learn how the lives of orphaned children are being changed through our work. You will visit each of our programmes in education, social work, and business and learn, observe and encourage local change-makers. On our summer trip you will also have the opportunity to work on our summer camp for orphaned children, where you will be playing games and running activities. HOW DO I SIGN UP? First, complete the online application form. Second, complete the COVID-19 Waiver, and return via email to [email protected] Once the application period is closed, applicants will be interviewed to ensure qualifications are met and to learn more about applicants. After the interview process, participants will need to fundraise or pay for the cost of their trip (approx. £1600 per person), provide vaccination records that cover for international travel to Uganda, hold a current passport (refer to the full trip checklist at edithshop.org/trips), and attend training sessions. Please find the appropriate forms to apply below : Edith's Hope Uganda Trip Application Form.docx Role Description.docx COVID19 Release Form.docx WHAT WILL BE COVERED IN THE TRAINING MEETINGS? It is imperative that participants visiting Edith's Hope are well-versed in our mindset of how to serve our communities in Uganda in order to have a lasting impact. Training meetings are held to prepare you as individuals, and as a team, to serve at Edith's Hope. Special emphasis will be given to cross-cultural experiences, team building and poverty alleviation. Training session dates will be sent out closer to the time, and there will be an expectation to attend at least one of these. WHAT DOES THE TRIP COST INCLUDE? The all-inclusive trip cost covers airfare, visa, room at Edith's Hope guesthouse, transportation, and meals while at project. It does NOT cover vaccinations, meals/snacks while travelling, souvenirs, meals at Jinja, or alcohol. We will provide a packing list at the first training meeting including required clothing and suggested items to bring on the trip. ALL funds need to be raised two weeks prior to the trip departure date and a £100 deposit is due at the time of the first training meeting. Do you have additional Questions?
