We're running 400 miles to raise funds for COVID19 medical supplies in rural Uganda
After not running for 2 years I am going to run 100km over Lent. This is to raise vital funds for medical supplies to fight covid 19 in rural uganda. It would be amazing if you could donate!
This is a personal challenge for me after having bilateral knee ops in November 2020 and I really hope it will raise some money too! I'm going to collect rubbish everyday through lent and hopefully raise lots of money. .
During the course of Lent, Josh will be running the equivalent distance of the infamous 326 km journey from Entebbe airport to the Edith's Hope project base in Ngora.
For the duration of this challenge I will be recreating the diet I lived on whilst working in Uganda for a year in 2008. From Monday to Saturday my entire diet will consist of porridge, fruit, eggs, rice, beans and chapati's. On a Sunday I will have meat for one of my meals. Throughout the period I will only drink water and coffee.
This is a group effort from members of the parish of chandlers ford, to collectively 'walk-to-uganda', a total of 5,617 miles over the 40 days.
During Lent I am going to train for and then complete a 10K run.
In the last week of lent I am going to eat (good quality) dog food for my main meal to highlight the issue of hunger in our orphan program. This is a tough challenge so dig deep for me !!

I am going to be eating the diet of Ugandan food that a typical student or staff member at our vocational school eats for the next 40 days. This will mostly be rice, beans, eggs and some fruit. I may treat myself to some meat once a week.
