After the death of her father, her mother sadly abandoned Rhoda and her three siblings, unable to provide care and support. This left Rhoda, who was only 17 years old at the time with an impossible choice. To run away, find a husband and build her own life or to stay, raise her siblings out of poverty and sacrifice her own dreams of becoming a nurse. Rhoda chose to stay. She now is both father and mother to her four younger siblings, being their sole care giver. But Rhoda's challenges do not stop there. As she is a young woman with no protection or higher education, this leave her incredibly vulnerable to young marriage, teenage pregnancy, prostitution and sexual violence.
